Coons Jnr set to light it up at Midget Triple Crown”  After much planning by all involved at Springs Promotions (Western Springs Speedway), Ruapuna Speedway and Woodford Glen Speedway we are happy to announce American Star Jerry Coons Jnr will be competing in the ‘Midget Triple Crown’. Coons Jnr will once again be driving the famous ‘Wendy’s’ car is set to take on some of the best Kiwi midget drivers including BSL Racings’ multiple New Zealand Champion Michael Pickens, the much improving and very fast Duane Hickman of Stratford plus Midget Car legend and past multiple National Champion Graham Standring. Due to a previous commitment, young American star Kyle Larsen is unable to attend the Triple Crown leaving the BSL Racing No. 99usa car without a driver and who better to take the wheel than Standring. Local hopes are headed by South Island Champion Dave Kerr who recently competed with distinction in the International series at Western Springs Speedway. Nelson’s Nevil Basilaj is another South Islander who has been competing at the Springs and will be sure to push his car to the limit. Rounds one and two are set to start at Hollands Collision Centre Ruapuna Speedway on Friday night January 27th with round two at AmPro Tools Woodford Glen Speedway on Saturday night January 28th.
