Despite initial concerns around security and safety the winter skids organised by Southern Car Culture and run at Ruapuna Speedway for the first time was a success with an estimated 1000 spectators watching the 30 entrants performing on the purpose built skid padfor prize money. Ruapuna Speedway Club President Darren Nankivell was pleased with how the event was run and is now looking forward to anotherpossible event being run later in the year.
