Second Practice Review
Ryan Stone (TQ 5c) recovers from a turn one bicycle after being pushed hard by his arch rival Ricky Brett both drivers showed early season pace with Brett coming off the better passing Stone several times throughout the practice sessions - Its hard to know who will come out on top this year with Stone's super fast smooth lines and years of experience vs Brett's Raw speed and fearlessness.
Second Practice 17th October
A later than anticipated second practice took place on Wednesday night after the scheduled Saturday practice had to be called off due to weather. Drivers from most classes took the midweek oppotuntity to blow out the off season cobb webs and get some valuable laps in before Saturday nights Dress rehearsal.
Modified Sprints turned up with 1/2 a dozen competitors with several drivers making early impressions Craig Johns drove his Shands Road Outdoor Power sponsered vechile with confidence and he and Brett Robinson played cat and mouse for a number very fast laps - late to arrive Andre Goldsmith had just the one run in with his repowered car and showed he maybe a front runner this year putting in several fast laps, Anthony Dawson continued to impress showing he isn't afraid to race hard and fast on the high line.
TQs also had a good showing with Ricky Brett and Ryan Stone out shinning the rest of the field Blair Warren looks a lot faster than he was last year. Kyle Glover and Brian Fridd looked to have engine issues which they will no doubt try to be fixing before Saturday
Bryce McCall took his Pontiac powered midget around the track but engine isues plagued his practice session the Fontana steel block engine looking to have enormous horse power when running right but reliability could be a issue this season.
A number of Quarter Midgets turn up with again the Clive brothers showing they will be running at the pointy end of the field - Nathan struck a problem in the last race with his the car coming to a abrupt stop in the back straight what initially looked like a major engine problem turned out to be a brake disc rotor binding up.
Just a couple of Youth Mini Stocks took the track with a larger field expected on Dress Rehersal Night

Danny Mayson sent murmorings through the crowd after showing breakneck speeds in his repowered Sprintcar - His car looked beautifully set up in the first two races but looked a little off in the last race, after having a good year last season many are predicting he will be a front runner this year again.
Ray Baughan seemed to have ironed out his engine issues from last week and had the Avon Insurance Brokers Sprintcar hooked up and hauling in the last race
Floyd Butterworth also showed some tidy lines reminiscente of his father the late great Barry Butterworth and looks to be improving with each outing.
