Glenn Everett is adamant he will be racing next season despite a massive TQ crash at Ellesmere Speedway earlier this year. The former hard charging Sprintcar driver traded in the 850 horsepower Sprintcar for the 120 horsepower TQ and despite the massive power reduction Everett concedes the TQ punches well above its weight for speed and excitement.
What originally was suppose to be leisurely meeting sorting engine issues out turned to disaster when Everett rode a wheel in the turn three corner. The car went into a violent series of somersults before being stopped by the catch fence and eventually landing back on all four wheels.
Major damage was sustained to the chassis, tail tank and crash bar. with a winter rebuild required before racing starts at Ruapuna later this year. Everett was thankful for his full containment seat - the seat reduced his body movement while the car was rotating in the air helping to minimise injuries, that said Everett still suffered a crushed vertabrae and spent a night in hospital recovering from the incident.
